I found myself in Erie, PA last week and previously had been in touch with a gentleman outside of Buffalo, NY who had both a West Side Boat Shop XR5 and Wave Ultra for sale.
So naturally I got up early one morning and drove to Buffalo to check them out.
I came home with the XR5 as the newest addition to my personal fleet.
I still have Doug Bushnell’s original XR5, but as you can see in the video below, it is so beat up with chunks missing such that it is worn to the fabric and unsafe to paddle, so I was happy to find this XR5 in very good condition.
