Quick update

I know I’ve been a little quiet lately, but that is because life has been coming at me hard with a lot of grown-up “life stuff” going on, and I am also trying to take it easy in my training to allow the tendons and tissue in my arms, elbows and wrists to heal.

I haven’t paddled a kayak since the FOLAR race a month ago and only just tonight hopped on my kayak ergometer to test the waters, so to speak. A few weeks back I could have paddled a kayak in my basement office (in the other corner of our basement,) which partially flooded in the aftermath of hurricane Helene, but I am not going to complain because we got off very easy with little damage compared to those just a couple hundred miles south of us, some of who experienced complete devastation.

I’m not so sure I like being a grown-up.

I’ve been seeing a chiropractor who has brought some significant pain relief, but I’m still battling elbow pain, especially at night when I’m trying to fall asleep. My wrists just try to curl under and then everything in my forearms tighten up and that creates pain that then either wakes me up or keeps me awake.

I’ve been undergoing TENS therapy along with manual adjustments and Western Dry Needling. I’ve got an appointment at 6:50am in the morning tomorrow and will ask permission to video one of my future treatment sessions to share with you so you can see what all is involved.

If you appreciate anything I’ve done or am I’m doing here, please consider buying me a virtual coffee as a way to say “Thanks, Dave!” That one simple gesture would mean the world to me right now.

Sometimes it is the little things that keep us going.

Here is a smartwatch review I did this evening. I hope my kayaking family understands that it is the smartwatch reviews on my Youtube channel that do the heavy lifting to generate revenue on Youtube, and that subsequently helps keep everything else going.

If you’d rather see me reviewing kayak/kayaking gear let me know, and let me know what gear you would like to see reviewed.

We are a small community so we need to stick together and support each other, but please understand I need to do some things with mass appeal to keep it all going.

And, yes, that is the Kingsmith folding rowing machine in the background of the video.
