I find myself stepping back into the role of race co-organizer after enjoying years of racing races without any of the stress and hard work that goes into organizing a race, but I feel this race, the local race that got me started in the competitive aspect of the sport, is worth saving.
It was nice to just show up at races organized by others, but so many races are dying off I feel it is time to step back in and put my money where my mouth is.

I have so many fond memories of this event and have made most of my current friends as a result of participating in this event over the years.

We have modest expectations this year, but we want to put this race back on the map and raise money for a great charity. As long as we can use kayaking and canoeing as a way to raise money for great charities, I will remain all in.
I just want to pay it forward.
