Come join me this coming Saturday for a new-to-me race. I’m forced to take days off before the end of August so I am going to maximize my time paddling new waters with new people. It is almost like somebody is telling me to step away from the desk and go reset yourself…because they quite literally are telling me just that. (I’ve trained them well. I’ve figured out how to be very focused and productive yet just likeable/annoying enough to have everyone around me in my inner circle to tell when it is time to take time off to go kayaking.)
Kayakers are a different breed.
I’ll be in Knoxville, TN Saturday (Aug. 3) for the Three Rivers Regatta. Check them out on PaddleGuru, I think you have until Tuesday or Wednesday to register for the race:

I plan to drive down on Friday so if you want to get together Friday night before the race just shoot me an email.
If you are so inclined, you may contact me this week and request me to bring a West Side Boat Shop kayak demo boat for a test paddle at the race and I’ll throw it on top of the DaveTheKayakerMobile for you. It is just like the BatMobile but at least 1000x less cool. But it will get a boat to you so you can take it for a test paddle. The BatMobile can’t do that. And while these three rivers can’t possibly compare to the confluence of the Ohio, Youghiogheny, and Allegheny rivers, I’m confident it will still be a great experience with wonderful members of an outstanding paddling community.
