I finally got around to producing this video from a few weeks ago at the FOLAR kayak race on Sept. 21, 2024.
I had a wonderful time reuniting with old friends and making a few new friends.
Charlottesville, VA was well-represented on the podium by Paddling Buddy Dave, Audrey and me, all 1st place in our respective divisions. Well done Team Cville!
I paddled my West Side Boat Shop (WSBS) XR5 wildwater kayak because I wanted to run this race in a new and different boat since I ran it the past two times in my WSBS Marauder kayak. The boat is fast and responsive, but it is certainly not a 10-mile flatwater racer, but I made it work.
