OK.
So I just happened upon this video and want to share it with my audience.
How many poor decisions do you see in this video?
I’ll get you started:
- Poor pre-trip planning. With just a little proper planning, this group would have known that single-layer vinyl, inflatable rafts (ie, pool toys) were absolutely not suited to this section of river.
- Consumption of alcohol on the river
- PFD’s, anyone?
On the positive side:
- They seemed to have the resources required to bail them out of a bad situation (money to rent proper canoes, support people, etc.)
- They had the right spirit
- I give them a lot of credit. They spent a lot of time on a river with inadequate gear and made it work for them.
- They seemed to have a lot of fun, and that’s what paddling should be about.
Leave your comments below on what you observe in this video.
It does seem that hippies have more fun.
