My trusty Prijon Beluga joined a new fleet today. I’m somewhat sad to see her go but am happy she found a good home with a new paddler who appreciates her for what she is.
Before I said goodbye, I took one last photo of her next to the Cobra Viper since I realized I didn’t have that comparison shot.

I guess my boat liquidation sale has officially begun.
I need to make room in the garage (and I need to free up some cash) for something new.

Dave,
Thanks so much for getting back to me. I’m excited to use the Beluga to build my skills and work my way up.
Take care and stay safe out there,
Mark

The Beluga can handle all of that. I took it downriver many times and raced a 100-miler with it. It is also a very good flatwater training boat if somebody is new to racing. Much more stable than the Cobra Viper, which I still believe is the fastest plastic ever made. As for open water, the boat is fully capable in the hands of the person with open water skills.

Dave,
I need to try understand the Prijon Beluga. I love the idea of racing boats but also wanted a boat that could tackle rivers, lakes and could surf virginia beach potentially. I wanted to know based on your experience if you believe the Beluga could do all that? If so, I think I’ll be content with this boat for a while.
Thanks in advance for your advice,
Mark
