Paddling the Middle River Near Verona, VA

This was my first time paddling this river so I jumped at the chance when I was invited.

Unfortunately, I learned there is virtually no public access to this river as the land around it is all private. 

But I did learn about the Friends of the Middle River and encourage you to join them and make a donation to help preserve this wonderful river and help encourage public-private partnerships that can help open access to this gem to more paddlers.

It had near-constant runs of Class I rapids and maybe one or two that approached Class II with minimal amounts of flat water.

It was a wonderful 14 mile section, just above Verona, VA.
