I joined a small group of Rivanna River Paddlers to do the Charlottesville (Darden Towe Park) to Milton section of the river Sunday afternoon.
The water level spiked overnight and water levels were near perfect.
We were rewarded with a fast trip at river levels that required very little technical skill since most of the rocks were washed over. Several of the rock gardens didn’t even exist–a rare level of water for early August in Central Virginia.
A pleasant surprise for what was planned as a Sunday afternoon, low water paddle.
Everyone was happy!
