What an amazing group of volunteers and conservationists!
FOLAR runs an absolutely wonderful event with shuttle transportation both before and after the race with food, music and fellowship. They created a race category for competitive racers this year so we need to get even more competitive paddlers to this event next year.
I was quite surprisingly pleased I paddled a solid race after zero sleep the night before. I was coming off a really rough week and wasn’t so sure I had much left in my tank.
Sometimes life comes at you hard and you have to stand up and push back. Sept. 24 was one of those days for me.
Kayaking is my therapy.
Thank you to all the fine folks at FOLAR! You truly pull off one of the best-organized canoe/kayak/surfski/SUP races on the East Coast.
