I made it out today to do some light training in my West Side Boat Shop Wave Exceed kayak as I prepare for the
Friends of the Lower Appomattox River (FOLAR) Kayak Race coming up on Sept. 26.
I tried to make it up Naked Creek but the water was too low that the entry way into the cove was blocked.
Our local reservoir level is once again dropping quickly as we still have not had any long, soaking rains.
The funny thing is that many locals don’t believe there can be a drought because it has rained so often. I’m tired of explaining that frequency of passing storms and total rainfall are two very different things.
