Low-carb Diets DO NOT Shorten Lifespan

De-bunking a recent story that was put forth by CNN.

Here is a link to the study.

“Both high and low percentages of carbohydrate diets were associated with increased mortality…”

So why the misleading headline?  And a study that simply asked participants to fill out a questionnaire and then try to link that to all-cause mortality rate?

Dodgy science, at best.

  1. Anyone who knows anything about nutrition knows that there are EFAs (ESSENTIAL fats) and EAAs (essential proteins) but there is not one single ECH (essential carbo hydrate). That’s because what ever carbohydrate the body needs the liver can MAKE. So, far from being a life shortener, a low carb diet is a life enhancer. High amounts of carbohydrate lead to insulin resistance, which leads to type II diabetes , which can lead to fatty liver disease which leads to an early death. I’ll stick with a high (healthy) fat, moderate protein low carb diet
